In the fall of 2009, Central Michigan University
earned the Mid-American Conference's inaugural
Cartwright Award, the league's top overall honor.
The award is given annually to the program that
best exempliﬁes academic excellence, athletic
accomplishment and citizenship.
The Chippewas have won 38 MAC titles since 1999-2000, covering 14 of the 16 sport programs. The 2009-10 champions
