CHIPPEWA ATHLETICS<br />
In the fall of 2009, Central Michigan University<br />
earned the Mid-American Conference's inaugural<br />
Cartwright Award, the league's top overall honor.<br />
The award is given annually to the program that<br />
best exemplifies academic excellence, athletic<br />
accomplishment and citizenship.<br />
The Chippewas have won 38 MAC titles since 1999-2000, covering 14 of the 16 sport programs. The 2009-10 champions<br />
were (clockwise from top right) gymnastics, baseball, football, wrestling and soccer.<br />
